This is me. My color, my essence, my injuries and pain strengthened into bits of golden wisdom that adorn my body as armor, my battle tested heart, and madness in my mind. This shade of blue is my favorite. I say it is my color because I identify with its balance of exciting brightness and cool, soothing depth. It reminds me of the ocean whose qualities I’ve always admired and strive to embody. The bruise colored strikes correlate with the parts of my body where I’m commonly and have been injured as a fighter. The yellow represents the golden wisdom that that pain turns into- the lessons learned from mistakes. Red, my heart in the center wears a green similar to that of an army solider to signify its battles along with its bruises, gold, and darkness. The lighter, earthier greens with the gray and touches of orange present as my mind- grounded but with a bit of melancholy cloudiness and sparks of eccentricity and crazy. This painting was created using low and body kicks, straight punches and hooks to the head and body, a few knees in the body region, and elbows to the head.
